QNAP Systems, Inc. (QNAP) today unveiled the TS-963X, a 9-bay NAS with an AMD quad-core 2.0 GHz processor, up to 8 GB RAM (upgradeable to 16 GB), and 10GBASE-T connectivity supporting five connection speeds (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M). The compact TS-963X is the size of a 5-bay NAS but accommodates five 3.5-inch HDD bays and four 2.5-inch SSDs bays that deliver high-performance, high-capacity storage potential including automatic file/data tiering based on access frequency (Qtier Technology). The TS-963X is ideal for small businesses and organizations to boost data access efficiency, network transmission speed and to meet demands of mission-critical tasks.

QNAP Systems, Inc. today unveiled new TVS-882BR RDX models (including the TVS-882BR-RDX and TVS-882BRT3-RDX) that integrates the Tandberg RDX® QuikStor™ internal SATA 5.25-inch docking station (8813-RDX) for installing removable and portable RDX hard disk cartridges. Compared to standard external hard drives, the Tandberg RDX cartridge features a rugged dust-proof design that protects data for a longer period of time and allows users to easily transfer data with the cartridges.

Synology Inc. today launched RackStation RS2418+/RS2418RP+, a 2U, 12-bay rackmount NAS providing easy-to-scale storage capacity with affordable total cost of ownership (TCO) for small- and medium-sized businesses.
RS2418+/RS2418RP+ supports up to 144TB raw capacity in a single 2U chassis. The storage capacity can be further expanded up to 288TB when connected to one RX1217/RX1217RP, providing on-the-fly volume expansion.

Synology Inc. today announced the general availability of the Synology C2 Backup service to users worldwide. Initially established to meet the increasing demands from European customers for a secure and highly-integrated cloud backup solution, C2 Backup now allows precious data stored on Synology NAS around the world to retain copies on Synology's own cloud storage service in case of disaster recovery.
C2 Backup has experienced tremendous growth in its first six months following its initial launch in Europe. The 96% subscription retention rate after the 30-day free trial has caused Synology to expand its Frankfurt based data center and offer the service to users outside the EMEA region. Synology Inc. today announced the beta release of Active Backup for Office 365, an application that allows businesses to back up data residing in Office 365 to a local Synology NAS. The latest beta version adds support for backing up Office 365 mail, contacts, and calendar on top of the existing OneDrive for Business support, meaning users can enjoy better control and protection of their critical data.
"Since a rapidly growing number of businesses are moving their operations to the cloud, this is our first solution to comprehensively back up corporate data from a cloud provider," said Jia-Yu Liu, Director of Application Group at Synology Inc. "The Active Backup family of packages makes it effortless to consolidate data dispersed across physical, virtual, and cloud environments into a centralized backup solution. Synology Inc. today released RackStation RS3618xs, a high-performance 12-bay rackmount storage solution that can be used as a private file server, backup target, virtualization solution, and more for growing businesses.
RS3618xs is a 2U RackStation NAS powered by an Intel Xeon D-1521 quad-core CPU and 8GB DDR4 ECC UDIMM RAM, expandable up to 64GB. The four plug-and-play Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports can be expanded with higher performance 10GbE NICs through the PCIe 3.0 slot, providing over 3,900 MBps throughput and 143,500 iSCSI IOPS.
In addition to the native 12-drive support, storage capacity can be further expanded up to 432TB when connecting to two RX1217(RP), providing on-the-fly volume expansion.
