Lexar Media today introduced a 64GB addition to the award-winning Crucial RealSSD C300 product line. The new 64GB RealSSD C300 drive, like its predecessors, natively supports SATA 6Gb/s, is backwards compatible with the SATA 3Gb/s interface, and provides scorching-fast read speeds of up to 355MB/s and write speeds up to 75MB/s. Competitively priced at US$149.99, the new 64GB C300 drive is available in a standard 2.5-inch form factor, and comes with a limited three-year warranty.

Roxio today unveiled Roxio VideoLab 3D, the world's first personal video editing suite for capturing, editing, and sharing personal 3D content. Designed to be bundled with and add value to 3D-enabled PCs, laptops, cameras, camcorders, and accessories, Roxio VideoLab 3D allows users to import a wide range of 3D video formats including stereoscopic content directly from 3D cameras. The software also automatically converts standard 2D content into 3D, so users can include existing home movies in their 3D video creations.
With Roxio VideoLab 3D, consumers can use familiar video editing tools to turn raw 3D footage and converted 2D content into engaging and immersive 3D home movies, complete with titles, transitions, and effects. The finished results can be exported in a range of formats, including the RealD Format for a cinematic-quality 3D viewing experience on 3D-enabled home PCs and HDTVs. Intel Corporation announced today that its award-winning Intel® Solid-State Drives (SSDs) are now available in 800 Best Buy stores across the country and on BestBuy.com.
SSDs can replace or complement a traditional hard drive in a notebook or desktop PC and deliver noticeably faster computer performance when booting up, opening files and running software applications. With no moving parts, these SSDs deliver greater reliability and consume less power than conventional hard disk drives (HDDs).
During the past decade, HDD speed has only improved 1.3 times, while Intel’s processor speeds have improved more than 200 times. This has caused a system bottleneck that SSDs can help solve. Western Digital today introduced its new 1 TB My Book® AV DVR expander, allowing customers to instantly and seamlessly expand their DVR recording capacity by simply attaching the My Book AV DVR expander.
TiVo Verified™ compatible with TiVo® Series3™ and TiVo HD DVRs, the new My Book AV DVR expander is capable of storing up to 120 hours of high-definition (HD) television programming. The drive, which offers USB and eSATA connections, has also been tested and is compatible with Dish Network® and DirecTV® DVRs. WD is working with other major satellite, cable and telecom companies to integrate its DVR expander technology into set-top boxes around the world.
DVRs have become an indispensable technology for consumers around the world by helping users time-shift their TV and recommend new shows. According to Parks Associates, 40 percent of U.S. broadband households and 38 percent of Western European broadband households have a DVR (Parks Associates: The Consumer Perspective 2009). Toshiba Storage Device Division (SDD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. and the industry pioneer in small form factor enterprise-class hard disk drives (HDDs), today announced the launch of the MBF2xxLRC, a 2.5-inch enterprise HDD mounted in a 3.5-inch bracket.
Following the successful launch of the 600GB MBF2600RC 2.5-inch enterprise drive in February this year, customer demand steadily increased for small form factor HDDs due to their stability, reliability, and reduced power consumption compared to traditional 3.5-inch drives. To support this demand, Toshiba developed the 3.5-inch bracket, giving IT departments easier access to the benefits of 2.5-inch drives by enabling the small form factor drives to be used in legacy 3.5-inch servers and storage enclosures.

Roxio today announced that Roxio CinePlayer®, its comprehensive media player for Windows®, has received Blu-ray Profile 5 (3D®) certification from the Blu-ray Disc Association. Blu-ray 3D support enhances Roxio CinePlayer's already extensive feature set for the playback of 3D video entertainment and personal video content. Roxio CinePlayer with 3D support was introduced earlier this year and will be shipping soon on new 3D-enabled notebook and desktop systems from leading manufacturers including ASUS and MSI.
