Micron Technology, Inc., today announced it is shipping the world’s first 176-layer NAND SATA SSD designed for data center workloads. The Micron 5400 SATA SSD is the most advanced data center SATA SSD available. Built on a proven 11th generation SATA architecture, the Micron 5400 SSD enables broad use cases, delivers significantly better performance than traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), and extends the life of SATA platforms.

Sonnet Technologies today announced the Sonnet M.2 2x4 Low-profile PCIe® Card, the latest offering in the company’s popular family of high-performance storage adapter cards that enable the installation of multiple SSDs into a computer’s or Thunderbolt expansion system’s PCIe card slot. The low-profile, half-length PCIe 3.0 card features two M-keyed NVMe M.2 SSD slots that support the installation of M.2 form factor NVMe PCIe SSDs.
The Sonnet M.2 2x4 Low-profile PCIe Card enables users to mount two M.2 NVMe 2280 PCIe SSDs (sold separately) into almost any expansion card space with an available x8 or x16 PCIe card slot; using today’s highest-capacity SSDs, up to 16TB of storage capacity may be installed. The S90 Lite uses the latest Gen4x4 NVMe controller and 176-layer 3D TLC NAND flash. It utilizes PCIe Gen4x4 and NVMe 1.4 protocol as an interface to achieve rapid sequential read and write speeds up to 5000/4500 MB per second, which is ten times faster than a SATA III SSD. The SSD drive is also backward compatible with the PCIe Gen3 system.

The company is sampling to customers the world’s highest-capacity microSD card, the i400, at an unprecedented density of 1.5 terabytes (TB). This card is designed for industrial-grade video security with the world’s first 176-layer 3D NAND, also pioneered by Micron. To better provide its high-performance, ruggedized solutions to the industrial market, Micron is also adding partners to its Industrial Quotient (IQ) partner program. Additionally, the company is announcing it has received the first International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 26262 Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) D certification of memory for its low-power double data rate 5 (LPDDR5) DRAM, which is based on its first-to-market 1α (1-alpha) process node. KIOXIA America, Inc. today announced the addition of a high-capacity 512 gigabyte (GB) product to its lineup of EXCERIA HIGH ENDURANCE microSD™ memory cards. The new 512GB product delivers sufficient performance and endurance in continuous high-resolution 4K video recordings of dashboard and surveillance cameras.
As the evolution of dashboard cameras continues, with new features such as high-resolution recordings, multiple cameras and parking surveillance being added, the amount of recorded data is steadily increasing. Nikon Corporation (Nikon) is pleased to announce the release of the MC-CF660G memory card.
The MC-CF660G is a CFexpress (Type B) memory card with a large capacity of 660 GB. It realizes a high speed read rate of approximately 1700 MB/s (maximum) and high speed write rate of approximately 1500 MB/s (maximum). Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 50 supports Admin, User, and One-Time Recovery passwords with Complex or Passphrase modes. This multi-password option enhances the ability to recover access to data on the drive should one of the passwords be forgotten. While traditional Complex mode allows for passwords from 6-16 characters using 3 out of 4 character sets, the new passphrase mode gives users the ability to have a numeric PIN, sentence, list of words, or even lyrics from 10 to 64 characters long that’s unique, yet memorable to them.
