Today Synology America Corp. announced the release of its latest offerings for office and workgroup environments- the DS111 and the DS211. The new DiskStations are the latest in Synology’s solid business line, providing affordable and effective network attached storage (NAS) solutions.
The DS111 and DS211 offer excellent value for businesses, complete with Synology’s renowned and feature-rich DiskStation Manager (DSM) 3.0. With competitive read/write speeds, the new models will keep up with business needs. Access control lists (ACLs) and easy ADS integration streamline access control administration, bringing enterprise-level features within reach of even small businesses.
"DSM 3.0 already offers a solid list of features businesses need and want," said Jason Bonoan, a marketing specialist at Synology America. "These two latest additions to the DiskStation family really offer a high-performing platform to run them on, and at an attractive price-point."
The new DiskStations provide a reliable solution for the standard NAS roles such as easy file sharing, scheduled backups, and remote access. Additional services can also be enabled, such as a built in web server capable of hosting up to thirty sites at once, or an add-on email server. Remote access has been further enhanced with apps available for Android and iPhone smart phone platforms.
The intuitive interface of DSM 3.0 saves money by reducing the training time. Short cuts can be assigned for quick access to frequently used applications. With Synology’s green credentials and no requirement for client access licenses (CALs), businesses are poised to realize additional savings in energy and license costs.
The DS111 and DS211 will also run Surveillance Station 5, turning them into affordable NVR (network video recorder) solutions quickly. Surveillance Station 5 offers a unified interface for multiple cameras, and supports over 700 models of IP camera.
