Patriot Memory today announced the immediate availability of the Xporter Rage USB Flash Drive. These drives are designed to provide incredible performance and convenience and are available in capacities from 8GB to 64GB.

Samsung Electronics today announced the F4EG, the world’s highest-density, environmentally friendly hard disk drive (HDD) for the desktop market. The EcoGreen™ F4 features a 2-terabyte (TB) capacity – 667GB for each of its three disks – and is capable of storing up to 880 hours of DVD video or 500,000 songs in MP3 format. The internal F4EG utilizes Samsung’s high-density design technology to provide better performance, low power and improved reliability to its ‘EcoGreen’ hard drives.
“Storage-hungry multimedia professionals, gamers and home PC users continue to increase the amount of video, music, photo and other personal data they store and back-up,” said I.C. Transcend Information, Inc. today introduced CF200I, an advanced version of the company’s high-end industrial grade CompactFlash cards. Aside from using stronger error correction code (ECC) and global static wear leveling technology, the new CF200I CF cards feature Transcend’s exclusive Flash Life Guard software, a convenient tool that gives users notification when the card approaches the end of its life cycle.
While most flash cards have to risk the possibility that their cells (bits) will eventually lose the ability to function due to flash memory’s limited write/erase lifetime, Transcend’s advanced CF200I CF cards provide industrial users peace of mind with the addition of its new Flash Life Guard software. Infinitec has opened its website to pre-orders for the world's first Infinite USB Memory Drive (IUM). The product that was first seen at CES in January 2010 has since been highly anticipated by electronics and media enthusiasts. Although the company has been hit by some industry delays, customers can now finally place their pre-orders by going to the company's website. Infinitec is giving customers who pre-order free delivery worldwide and promises to start shipping units on August 31st 2010.

Redbox, the popular DVD rental kiosk provider, today announced it has started rolling out Blu-ray™ titles with availability at approximately 13,300 kiosks nationwide. Redbox will rent Blu-ray Discs® at $1.50 per night plus tax and the company expects to have availability across its network of approximately 23,000 kiosk locations by the fall.
"Offering Blu-ray rentals is an exciting opportunity for redbox to expand our product offerings and build on the relationships that we've established with millions of consumers nationwide," said Mitch Lowe, president, redbox. "Redbox is a convenient, affordable home entertainment provider and we're delighted to offer consumers their favorite movies on the increasingly popular Blu-ray Disc format."
According to a recent report by the Digital Entertainment Group, sales of Blu-ray players increased 103 percent in the first half of this year. The sale of almost two million set-top players during this time has increased the total number of Blu-ray players sold to an estimated 19.4 million, resulting in more consumers entering the Blu-ray rental market.
