Netbooks are common; Netbooks are trendy. By their very nature, Netbooks need to be small and lightweight, which means that many of them come with limited SSD storage.  Verbatim’s new Store ‘n’ Go Netbook USB Drive solves this weakness by providing up to 32GB storage capacity in a device smaller than a Euro coin that can be simply plugged into a Netbook and left there on a near permanent basis.  The Verbatim Netbook USB Drive is available in stores now.

Verbatim´s new Netbook USB Drive allows users to increase the storage of their Netbook without having to open it to upgrade the built-in storage, or even extend its footprint.  Due to its minute size – only 17.15mm long x 14.85mm wide x 7.7mm deep - when inserted into the USB interface, only 5mm is left protruding, meaning that it can be kept in the Netbook on a semi-permanent basis and used as a long-term storage extension.  And, needless to say, Verbatim Netbook USB doesn’t only work with Netbooks, but can be used in any other computer or gadget with a USB port - anything from car radios and digital picture frames to desktop PCs.

Sonic Solutions today announced that it will light up movie storefronts for its retail and studio partners on hundreds of new connected consumer electronics device SKUs this fall. Leading up to the holiday season, the RoxioNow™ platform will power storefronts on a massive number of new HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players, Digital Media Adapters, and mobile handsets from popular manufacturers including HTC, Insignia, Integra, LG, Magnavox, Memorex, Onkyo, Panasonic, Phillips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Sylvania, Toshiba, Western Digital, and VIZIO. The broader reach is expected to continue to drive attach rates and increase transaction volume for both sales and rentals as many more consumers begin to recognize and appreciate the convenience of accessing the latest Hollywood entertainment directly from their living room.

"Our history of helping successfully launch and establish new media formats continues with online entertainment delivery," said David Habiger, President and CEO, Sonic Solutions. "We have taken some significant strides in the quarter to execute support for a massive array of consumer electronics devices and platforms, and remain on pace to surpass our target of 30 million RoxioNow-enabled devices by June 2011. Although Sonic already supports the most movie storefronts and, with the recent addition of DivX®, has technology residing on the largest network of devices, we will continue to dramatically scale our platform in order to fully establish online entertainment distribution as the most efficient and profitable delivery system for entertainment."

Walgreens customers now have a convenient, affordable way to recover deleted or corrupted digital photos thought to be gone forever. The new Media Recovery Service now available at more than 7,500 Walgreens Photo Centers nationwide offers customers professional retrieval of lost images and other files from memory cards or USB drives.

With more consumers than ever storing and sharing photos digitally, treasured memories can be left vulnerable to mishaps such as a defective or damaged camera, accidental deletion, memory card or USB drive corruption, accidental formatting or file transfer errors. Though these situations can render images inaccessible, in many cases files are actually still retrievable from fixed memory space on the storage media.

“Sooner or later every digital camera user has the misfortune of losing a photo, and I know from experience this can be heartbreaking,” said Mona Kelly, Walgreens general merchandise manager of photo and front-end services. “As a trusted go-to provider of convenient, high-quality photo services in thousands of communities, we’re pleased to offer a solution that can help customers get back their cherished photos and along with them their peace of mind.”
