Super Talent Technology, a leading manufacturer of Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules, today announced a SATA version of their new DuraDrive series SSDs.
Right on heels of our resent announcement of ZIF and PATA interfaces, the new DuraDrive AT2 now completes this family line by offering the same industrial grade durability, reliability and performance with the SATA II interface. The DuraDrive was designed for use in environments considered "too harsh" for a standard drive.
The DuraDrive series utilized Solid State Disk technology, meaning it performs faster, use less power, offers greater reliability, shock and vibration than their HDD counterparts. By carefully selecting the finest components available, including an advanced industrial controller and premium NAND flash, we are able to further enhance the temperature specifications making the DuraDrive ideal for mission critical and embedded applications.
The DuraDrive line also has optional support for the Secure Erase features required for many Military and Industrial applications. With ECC/EDC support, bad bit management firmware and patented wear leveling technology, this drive offers extreme reliability and endurance; even in the most demanding of environments (-40 C to 85 C ).

PQI, an industry leader with one of the top ten brands of flash memory cards in the world, has just released the all-new SDXC Class 10 memory card. With its large storage capacity and high transfer speeds, the SDXC Class 10 answers the call of current market requirements for higher resolutions by providing the capability to support large volumes of high resolution video, images, and music file storage.
The PQI SDXC Class 10 memory card smashes SDHC's former high capacity limit of 32GB by doubling capacity to 64GB and upgrading the Class 10 SD 2.0 interface to high speed SD 3.0 specifications in one fell swoop. These advances yield even more outstanding transfer speed performance, and with the exFAT file system format, it can easily reproduce the file interoperability of desktop computers and portable media devices using other operating systems. PQI's latest product delivers the perfect combination of capacity, speed, and compatibility to easily satisfy the high demands of Full HD digital video recorders, high-end, ultra-high resolution single lens cameras, HDTV, Blu-ray disc players, mobile phones, car-based GPS systems, and other specialized entertainment applications.
Synology Inc. today unveiled DiskStation DS1511+ , a high-performance NAS server that offers greater scalability, significant storage capacity and full-featured business NAS solutions for SMB users.
As information data increases exponentially by the minute, the performance of data transmission becomes a predominant requirement for setting up a centralized file server in a business environment. “With link aggregation, the DS1511+ surpasses its predecessor to deliver an astonishing 197 MB/sec in reading speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, and 165 MB/sec in writing,” said Chad Chiang, the product manager of Synology Inc. The 2 LAN structure with failover support coupled with hot-swappable drives thus ensure high data availability.
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in advanced semiconductor technology solutions, announced today that it has developed and started sampling 100, 200 and 400 gigabyte (GB) multi-level-cell (MLC) solid state drives (SSDs) for use as the primary storage in enterprise storage systems.
“As more and more server makers are adopting SSDs for use in eco-friendly platforms that consume less electrical power, the need for high-density SSDs in the server market is growing rapidly,” said Byungse So, senior vice president, memory product planning & application engineering team, Samsung Electronics. “While Samsung is already well situated in the SSD market for enterprise servers with high-performance SSDs using single-level-cell (SLC) NAND flash memory, we are now expanding our line-up to include high-density SSDs using MLC NAND flash memory.”
By employing 30-nanometer-class MLC NAND flash chips with a Toggle DDR interface and a controller that uses a 3Gb/s (gigabits per second) SATA interface, the performance of Samsung’s new MLC-based SSDs closely approaches or even exceeds some of the SLC NAND-based SSDs now in the marketplace.
DVDFab is always improving to provide all customers with a better user experience. After a series of special offers this holiday, DVDFab has developed a new-tech "Lightning-Recoding" which is used in the Blu-ray Copy product to greatly increase converting speed to a historic level. It is exclusively owned by DVDFab.
Where is Lightning-Recoding used?
The Lightning-Recoding will be automatically activated in "Full Disc" and "Main Movie" mode of Blu-ray Copy, when the source is progressive H264 video, and when it comes to compression. Later, it will be applied in more DVDFab products.
How does Lightning-Recoding work?
Lightning-Recoding will reuse the original information of the source video to decrease the calculating work during compression, thus increasing the converting speed to a very large extent – approximately 40% at maximum.
Fujitsu Semiconductor America, Inc. (FSA) will demonstrate its newest USB 3.0-SATA controller products at the 2011 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 6 to 9.
At booth #36505 in the USB Community Section at CES, Fujitsu will present throughput and interoperability tests between the Fujitsu USB 3.0 host controllers and various motherboards and devices. Fujitsu will demonstrate the superior performance of the MB86E50 USB 3.0-SATA RAID IC in combination with the FrescoLogic FL1009B xHCI host controller chip and two RAID 0 (striping) configured SSDs. A second demonstration will highlight the high transfer speeds attainable with the Fujitsu MB86C31 series USB 3.0-SATA bridge controller IC and a single-port reference HDD/SSD system.
"The USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standard represents an exciting step forward for high-performance external storage applications – especially when combined with the greater throughput and reliability gains of RAID," said Yoshi Masuda, senior manager of marketing, Fujitsu Semiconductor America. "In throughput tests pairing the Fujitsu MB86E50 USB 3.0-SATA RAID IC and FrescoLogic FL1009B xHCI host controller chip, we have seen sequential write throughput exceed 390 MB/s and read throughput at almost 380 MB/s using two RAID 0 configured SSD devices. We believe that these results are the highest in the industry."
