Shipping now, the 2.5-inch, 10,000 RPM, WD S25 with SAS 6 Gb/s interface hard drives offer IT professionals ultra-reliable and efficient, high-performance storage with new 450 GB and 600 GB capacities. Active Media Products, a leading manufacturer of SSDs, DOMs and USB drives, today launched a 22-caliber silver bullet shaped USB 2.0 flash drive. "The Bullet-2 drive is the ultimate USB drive because it is rugged, reliable, waterproof, dustproof, small enough to comfortably fit on your keychain, and is a classical icon of form", stated Active Media Products VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson.
The Bullet-2 is AMP's second style of bullet shaped USB drive. Both Bullet-1 and Bullet-2 models are encased in air tight aluminum enclosures that protect all data from harsh environments such as water, snow, sand and dust. Bullet-1, in gold color, is shaped like a 50-caliber bullet, while the silver-colored Bullet-2 is in the form of a 22-caliber shell. Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions, today released Roxio Video Lab HD, a robust high-definition video editing suite for capturing, editing, and sharing personal home movies, which now features a range of capabilities for creating 3D projects. MPEG LA, LLC, world leader in alternative one-stop patent licenses, announces a call for patents essential to the Multiview Video Codec (“MVC”) standard used to deliver 3D video images. MVC is currently used for storage and playback of 3D video content on Blu-ray Disc™ devices and optical discs.
MPEG LA invites any party that believes it has patents that are essential to the MVC Standard to submit them by February 18, 2011 for evaluation of their essentiality by MPEG LA’s patent evaluators in order to participate in the creation of, and determine licensing terms for, a joint MVC patent license. MVC is described in Annex H of ITU-T Rec. H.264 (03/10) and ISO/IEC IS 14496-10:2010 (Dec. 15, 2010). Presently, evaluations will be based on ISO/IEC IS 14496-10:2010 (Dec. 15, 2010). Although only issued patents will be included in the license, in order to participate in the license development process, patent applications with claims that their owners believe are essential to the MVC Standard and likely to issue in a patent also may be submitted.
