The G-CONNECT solution provides on-the-go wireless access¹ to content that’s not already loaded on your iOS devices, including your favorite movies, music, books, photos and documents. No Internet connection is required. G-CONNECT provides access to five+ simultaneous devices, depending on the workload, and supports up to five SD or three HD video streams at once.

SanDisk Corporation, a global leader in flash memory storage solutions, today expanded its Lightning Enterprise Flash Drive (EFD) family with six new 2.5-inch 6Gb SAS (6 gigabits per second Serial Attached SCSI) models. The Lightning products are part of the new Enterprise Storage Solutions (ESS) division that SanDisk created following its recent acquisition of Pliant Technology.
The new drives include three SLC (single-level cell) flash drives with capacities of 100 gigabytes (GB), 200GB and 400GB; and three MLC (multi-level cell) flash drives with capacities of 200GB, 400GB and 800GB. The new drives extend SanDisk's position as the industry leader in EFD performance, performance predictability and reliability. SanDisk also confirmed today that HP has qualified and integrated the new Lightning 6Gb SAS drives into its HP Qualified storage drive offerings.

ADATA Technology, a leading manufacturer of high-performance DRAM modules and NAND Flash application products, today announced the first shipments of its highly anticipated S511 solid state drive (SSD).
ADATA is hardly a newcomer to the SSD field; however the S511 is the company’s first foray into the latest SATA 6 Gb/sec specification that employs the SandForce™ SF-2200 series controller. The timing of this release is consistent with the company’s historical balance of speed and thorough testing of new technologies.

We are confident that the S511 will provide dependable performance at industry-leading transfer speeds.”
The S511 utilizes the new generation SandForce SF-2200 series chip, with native support for the SATA 6Gb/s platform. Extensive internal testing has confirmed read and write speeds twice that of SSDs using the older SATA II specification, with all hardware and firmware elements working flawlessly. In simulation trials, the S511 reached 550/520MB read and write speeds respectively, with 4K random write speeds as high as 60,000 IOPS.

Pioneer Japan recently announced its new slim, portable DVD writer, the DVR-XD10J. This USB bus powered drive is capable of 8x DVD±R, 6x DVD±R DL, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW and 5x DVD-RAM writing speeds and a maximum DVD read speed of 8x. The DVR-XD10J also includes features like Pioneer's PURE READ+ technology as well as an advanced firmware that reduces noise by adjusting the rotation speed when playing audio CD's and DVD movies.
The DVR-XD10J come bundled with an assortment of software from CyberLink and is expected to cost about 6,500 Yen ($80US) when it hits stores in early July.
