Super Talent Technology, a leader of NAND Flash storage solutions, today announced their second-generation DataGuardian flash drive. The new DataGuardian is a high-performing USB 3.0 flash drive that keeps your files and private information safe from prying eyes, even if the drive is lost or stolen.
Users are asked to set up a password when using the DataGuardian for the first time. Every time after, the DataGuardian will immediately ask for the password when plugged in. This built-in password protection means there is nothing to download or install, no public/private partitions to manage, and no administrative rights are required.
The DataGuardian also protects users from autorun malware attacks, the most common form of malware attack affecting flash drives today. By keeping malware from auto-running, the DataGuardian can prevent malware from spreading onto other computers.

Add a commentAleratec today introduced the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA hard drive duplicator. This tower disk duplicator and sanitizer is compatible with both IDE and SATA hard disk drives and has more than double the capacity of Aleratec’s popular 1:5 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA, giving users the ability to finish their large duplication or sanitization jobs even faster.
The 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA is a powerful, standalone hard disk drive duplicator. It can create up to 11 perfect hard drives clones simultaneously by performing a sector-by-sector copy from a single source hard disk to up to 11 target drives. This copy includes partition and boot sector information for a perfect clone. When a sector-level copy is not required, the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA can also do file-level copies for supported file formats, which can save a significant amount of time.
It can also reliably wipe all traces of data from up to 12 hard disk drives at a time using Secure Erase, a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-88 approved method for clearing hard disks. This feature uses fast, secure algorithms created by the drive manufacturer and is built into most modern SATA hard drives as well as some IDE hard drives. If Secure Erase is not supported, the 1:11 HDD Copy Cruiser IDE/SATA can still sanitize drives with a choice of three comprehensive overwrite algorithms: a one-pass wipe, a three-pass wipe with verify, or a powerful seven-pass wipe which follows the Department of Defense 5220.22-M sanitization recommendation.

ADATA Technology today announces the launch of the SP600 Solid State Drive (SSD), an entry level solution to the SATA 6Gb/sec SSD specification. This move will allow both consumers who are new to SSDs, and also those who are especially cost conscious, to experience the lightning fast speeds of solid state drives at an attractive price point.
The SP600 delivers read and write speeds of 360 and 130 megabytes per second, and random 4KB read and write speeds are as high as 40,000 IOPS and 30,000 IOPS. Replacing a mechanical drive with a SSD not only will allow users to experience increased boot-up speeds, but it also is one of the most cost effective ways for average consumers to upgrade their systems. Additionally, the SP600 is completely silent during operation due to it having no moving parts.
The SP600 achieves a strikingly competitive balance between price and performance that serves as a perfect first step into the SSD world. The initial capacities of the ADATA SP600 SSDs are 32, 64, and 128 gigabytes.
