As multimedia resolutions get finer and finer, the size of files are also getting bigger and bigger; what follows is the need for file transmission speed to reduce the time needed for file exchange. KINGMAX has released a new flash drive that uses the USB 3.0 high-speed interface and comes in the capacity selections of 8GB/16GB/32GB. It is extremely suitable for workers to carry and store documents and data to use, and the capacity is also sufficient to exchange multimedia files with colleagues. They come in two colors, fantasia red and piano black; the appearance is elegant and generous and looks like an accessory that Audrey Hepburn would use in the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” if she was transported to modern times; simple and high quality.
A cup of coffee with a light charcoal fragrance is placed on the office desk, the slightly shiny top cover of the PD-10 is gently removed, the PD-10 is inserted in the USB slot, the person is focusing on the monitor screen and clicking the file to access… every image is as beautiful as a postcard and the PD-10 is an essential part of it. The neat and simple top cover design can prevent the problem of losing the cap; and the 605x185x9mm body dimension is ergonomic. It will be difficult to hold if it is too small, and will take up too much space if it is too big; the perfect-size design simply makes people love it. The USB 3.0 flash drive PD-10 is downwards compatible with USB 2.0 specifications, and its plug & play functions etc are most needed by users. It also has high compatibility and can be widely applied on systems including Win8, Win7, Vista, XP, 2000, Max OSV10.6.1 and Linux Kernel V2.6.x etc.

Toshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company today announced that it will launch the MC04ACA series, Toshiba’s first enterprise capacity hard disk drive (HDD) optimized for servers supporting cloud-based applications and analytic workloads. With a 3.5-inch form factor, the MC04ACA series delivers up to 5TB of storage with 7,200 rotations per minute (RPM) performance, reducing storage latency and making the MC04ACA series suitable for workloads and storage requirements generated by cloud computing. Mass production shipment in the Japanese market will start from the end of May.
The MC04ACA series is available in 2TB, 3TB, 4TB, and 5TB capacities and supports cloud use-case workloads of up to 180TB per year. The MC04ACA series supports 1TB per platter areal density, thus saving rack space and reducing the footprint and operational burden of cloud workload servers and storage systems. With up to 5TB storage capacity per host connection, the newest Toshiba HDD series boosts capacity per SATA port and enables fewer disks to handle the same storage capacity, reducing power and cooling costs on a per TB basis. The new series also boasts 6Gbit/s SATA interface speeds and Advanced Format sector technology, allowing compatibility with legacy applications and operating environments using aligned writes.

Marvell today announced the launch of its new 88SS1083 PCI Express (PCIe) solid state drive (SSD) controller —a two-lane PCIe Gen2 SSD controller. With performance transfer rates up to 1GB/s, Marvell’s 88SS1083 controller allows SSD manufacturers to offer PCIe SSD at price parity to SATA SSD. The Marvell 88SS1083 is the industry’s first controller to be fully compliant with the SATA Express standard, which leverages the most popular PCIe interface and brings in low latency, dual-lane support and 1GB/s data transfer rate.
The new 88SS1083 controller also supports Separate RefClock with Independent SSC (SRIS), a critical feature as it eliminates the need for an expensive shielded cable for minimizing noise and instead allows for a cost-effective SATA Express cable. SATA Express host can connect either high-performance SATA Express SSDs or traditional SATA devices at similar accessory costs.
"Improving performance while maintaining low power becomes more important than ever, especially for today's ultrathin notebooks and tablets," said Rajan Pai, Vice President, Sales and Field Applications Engineering at Marvell. "The new 88SS1083 allows SSD OEMs to offer higher performance, PCIe-based SSD solutions at similar prices to SATA and is quickly becoming the controller of choice for global OEMs. Marvell is proudly pioneering a new generation of high-performance and low-power silicon solutions that is driving our industry forward."
