Synology Inc. today launched the DiskStation DS216+. The high-performance 2-bay NAS server is aimed at home and small office users who want an efficient and secure storage solution to protect and share data, while enjoying on-the-fly video transcoding.
"With a powerful NAS storage solution, small offices gain access to high-speed file sharing, application serving, and online collaboration. Home users can also transcode and stream high quality video to all of their devices. The DS216+ is designed exactly for these functions. Synology Inc. today launched the DiskStation DS416j, a budget-friendly 4-bay network attached storage (NAS) server designed for home and personal use to manage data and enjoy multimedia. The new NAS is ideal for viewing and streaming content on TVs, computer monitors, projectors, tablets, cell phone screens, and more.

QNAP Systems, Inc. today announced their exclusive Qsirch 2.0 has been updated to include file distribution features to enable displaying search results by file categories, including photos, music, videos or documents, and users can customize the display of file distribution in order of date modified, file size or other criteria. The newly-released Qsirch 2.0 now runs file indexing as a background task and allows instant file sharing to enhance the user experience. Qsirch 2.0 also adds support for the ARM-based TS-531P QNAP NAS.
