Verbatim's parent company, Mitsubishi Chemical, has announced that they will be releasing their new 25GB BD-R and BD-RE media to the Japanese market on December 1st. Here's part of their press release, translated from Japanese:

In this year July, it continues to the start of sale of bear type BD for 2 time fast corresponding data, it is something which starts the sale for the video recording BD whose demand is high from the user. BD which this time we sell digital hi-vision broadcast while it was hi-vision picture quality made the video recording of approximately 130 parts possible memory capacity 25GB (single sided 1 layer) with, (at the time of transfer rate approximately 24Mbps).
According to AV Watch, Mitsubishi Chemical's BD-R and BD-RE media is expected to cost about 1,800 Yen and 2,500 Yen respectively. More information can be found here.
