Angelbird Technologies has announced that its latest portable SSD drive, the SSD2GO PKT, is now available worldwide. The award-winning drive was designed to be extremely portable and almost indestructible, while still offering incredible operating speeds and unique features.

The Angelbird SSD2GO PKT is made to be the most durable drive of its kind. Besides being equipped with high-quality dust and splash water protection, the SSD2GO PKT can withstand temperatures of up to -40°C (-40°F) and +85°C (+185°F).
In order to protect the internal parts of the SSD drive from shock damages, the casing can support immense forces, such as the weight of a truck rolling over it. Additionally, the included cables connect to the SSD2GO PKT via the unique Solid Connect™, which protects the cable’s connector and aims to prevent fractures at the receptacle and the cable plug.

Even though the SSD2GO PKT is almost indestructible, it weighs merely 50 grams (~1.76 oz). Designed for portability, the drive is only 9.5 mm thick (~0.37 in) and fits perfectly in most pockets. It is roughly the size of a box of matches.

The SSD2GO PKT can perform at 68,000 IOPS and speeds of up to 560MB/s, making the user’s files accessible within 0.5 ms. Angelbird’s TRIM 2 GO™ and Stable Stream™ technology additionally ensures that the drive’s performance constantly stays fresh and at a stable level. This is of importance when editing, recording and working with files stored on the SSD2GO PKT.
