Sans Digital, a leading provider of high performance storage subsystems, is proud to announce new additions to the TowerRAID Plus series: SAS and SATA RAID towers (TR8X-BP for black tower / TR8XP for silver tower). Based on the award-winning TowerRAID SAS and SATA series, the TowerRAID TR8X-BP/TR8XP supports 6G SAS and 6G SATA hard drives along with RAID 5 data redundancy protection.
SAS hard drives provide enterprise-level performance and features suitable for mission critical applications while SATA hard drives allow high capacity for nearline storage with affordable pricing. Either SAS or SATA hard drives, the Sans Digital TR8X-BP and TX8XP are ready for your application or storage needs in one single tower configuration. The bundled SAS and SATA RR2722 6G PCIe 2.0 x8 RAID controller is powered by a dedicated RAID processor, providing performance in excess of 650MB/s* with hot-spare functionality to immediately re-build data on the lost hard disk automatically.
In addition to the high performance and rich feature set, the TR8X-BP and TR8XP support a wide range of computer operating systems including Windows, MAC and Linux. Both models are also supported in VMware for use as a centralized storage for ESX/ESXi server or by the virtual machines in VMware ESX/ESXi 4.0. Enterprise-like features such as online RAID level migration, online RAID expansion, RAID roaming and Email notification for critical errors/events are also included via an user-friendly web GUI based management. TR8X-BP and TR8XP provide a blazing fast data transfer speed (over 650MB/s*) highly suitable for the video editing, critical server database or data backup applications with a very affordable listed price of $745.
Both towers come with hot-swappable trays inside the attractive dust-resistant ventilating door. “Supporting both enterprise SAS and high capacity SATA hard drives provide flexibility to our customers,” said Stanley Chan, Director of Business Development of Sans Digital. “With the bundled 6Gbps SAS and SATA RAID controller, the TR8X-BP and TR8XP provide a feature-rich high performance storage system ready for your most demanding data storage application.” For more information on the TR8X-BP and TR8XP, please visit: Performance Comparison.
