Active Media Products, manufacturer of SSDs and innovative USB drives, has leveraged their expertise in making ultra fast, small form factor SSDs to produce a new line of 600X CF cards for professional photographers.

"Many pro DSLRs can rapid fire up to 10 frames per second, but after the buffer fills they can only shoot as fast as the memory card can write. The memory card becomes a bottleneck in shooting action sequences. These 600X Pro Series cards can write up to 90MB per second, so even in raw mode a high end DSLR will be able to shoot at or near its rated speed for sustained periods", explained Active Media Products' VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson. The new Pro Series of CF cards support 0 to 70 C operating temeratures. These cards are rugged and reliable enough to take into the field, and fast enough to keep up with the action. AMP's 600X Pro Series CF cards are available today in capacities from 8GB to 64GB through Amazon.

Today's mobile workforce can now trade in their laptop for a flash drive, thanks to an innovative new mobile computing technology from Lockheed Martin and IronKey. The new IronClad™ USB drive shrinks a laptop's hard drive -- including the entire operating system, software applications, and files -- onto a secure flash drive.

The result is a totally secure "PC on a stick." Users on-the-go can plug the flash drive into just about any computer or laptop in the world, and have instant, secure access to their own personal desktop and files. The IronClad technology runs the operating system directly off of the flash drive, meaning the user's files never touch the hard drive of the borrowed computer, and the device leaves no trace that it was ever there.  Each IronClad device is fully encrypted and delivers hardware-level protection against today's most insidious malware threats, including nearly undetectable rootkits.

"Imagine leaving the office at the end of the day and, instead of slinging a laptop bag on your shoulder, you tuck a flash drive the size of a stick of gum in your pocket," said Charles Croom, Lockheed Martin's Vice President of Cyber Security Solutions. "With IronClad drives, employees who need to work at home or on travel, or field operatives who deploy around the country or around the globe, can carry not just their files but their entire computer on a three-inch USB drive. We've built a smart network around each drive, so IT managers have round-the-clock control of and visibility into the status and security of every device."

Due to the complexity of hardware RAID engines, hardware embedded RAID enclosures always marketed at high price points. Users often wish to take advantage of the high performance benefit of hardware RAID, but are unable to afford such units. The TR4UT/TR4UT-B and TR5UT/TR5UT-B are designed to fill this gap by providing high performance, yet affordable, RAID solutions. The embedded and dedicated hardware RAID engines are capable of providing over 200MB/s under RAID 0/10/3/5, maximizing the existing eSATA bandwidth. Performance is doubled under RAID 0 mode and 6x faster under RAID 5 mode, in comparison to software RAID products. The packages also include the latest 2-port eSATA 6Gbps PCIe 2.0 x1 controller (HA-HIG-R622, valued at $65), which allows an improved eSATA performance at no additional cost. The MSRP of TR4UT/TR4UT-B and TR5UT/TR5UT-B are $289 and $349 respectively, which are lower than the selling prices of similar products in the market.

Nintendo of America Inc. and Netflix, Inc. today announced an agreement that will allow Netflix members who are also owners of Nintendo’s Wii™ home console to instantly watch thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed from Netflix directly to their TVs. Netflix is scheduled to go live on the Wii console this spring in the United States at no additional cost to Netflix members who have a plan starting at $8.99 a month, a Wii console and a broadband Internet connection.

The partnership between the two companies will extend the reach of content streamed from Netflix farther than ever before, thanks to the mainstream popularity of the Wii console. Wii remains the fastest-selling home console in history, and reaches more consumers than any other device that currently supports streaming movies from Netflix. In December 2009, Nintendo sold well in excess of 3 million Wii consoles in the United States. Wii is the top-selling home video game system of this generation, and as such brings the Netflix experience to a broad and diverse mass market.

"Our research shows that 86 percent of all U.S. Wii consoles are located in the living room," said Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "The Wii console is the social hub around which friends and family members gather to play games and have fun. Soon both new and longtime Wii owners will enjoy the benefits of Netflix – and a variety of informational and entertainment options – by being Netflix members and connecting their consoles to the Internet."
