Such full occupation of production capacity has seldom happened in the past two to three years, the sources indicated. This may be because small makers in China and Taiwan have stopped production or shut down as well as clients' inventories have dropped from 4-6 weeks to a low level of two weeks or less and thus have been placing orders to replenish stock volumes, the sources pointed out.
Optical Disc Makers At Full Production Capacity Despite Price Hikes
While manufacturers like CMC Magnetics have raised the price of CD-R and DVD+R/-R discs by 10%, this hasn't stopped clients from placing OEM orders. With small makers in China and Taiwan stopping production, clients have placed urgent orders with Taiwan's leading disc makers.
