Western Digital has announced a new line of high-performance, eco-friendly storage systems designed to work with Mac computers. The My Book Studio II Edition storage systems come equipped with a pair of GreenPower hard drives in a RAID 0 configuration and feature FireWire 400/800, eSATA, and USB 2.0 interfaces.

WD (NYSE: WDC) today introduced its My Book Studio Edition II high-performance dual-drive storage systems which are designed to seamlessly work with Mac computers and provide an ideal blend of power savings and high performance. Available now at select retailers and the WD online store (www.shopwd.com), the new My Book Studio Edition II dual-drive storage systems are available in capacities of 1 TB and 2 TB.

Plextor Europe sent out a press release today, announcing a 750GB version of its PC-to-TV media player. Using the PX-MPE750U, consumers can take the photos, music and video stored on their PC and play them back on their TV at resolutions up to 720p.

Following the successful introduction of its 500GB PC-to-TV consumer multimedia player into the market in the New Year, Plextor is extending the range to add a 750GB version. The company’s latest personal storage device - the PX-MPE750U - enables PC files to be played back on your TV or hi-fi, including audio, video & photo files. With video upscaling to 720P (HD-Ready), it is a high performance drive with the ability to play a wide variety of file types.

Fujitsu has announced its new MHZ2 BJ series of 2.5" hard disk drives. Designed for use in high-performance PCs, these new drives are the first to feature a rotational speed of 7200 RPM and capacities up to 320GB.

The new series is designed for use in high-performance PCs, such as high-end notebook computers and compact desktops.

The MHZ2 BJ series requires only 2.3 W of power for read and write operations, ranking it among the most power-efficient drives in its class. The series is one of many new products announced as part of Fujitsu's Green Policy Innovation initiative, unveiled in December 2007 to promote energy-efficient products and services as a way to help customers lower their ecological footprint.
