Team Group Inc. introduces the Team X101 USB 3.0 flash drive disk at 2011 Computex. The X101 is the world’s first aluminum alloy flash drive disk that uses gradient coating with color rendering to specify the extreme speed of 100MB/sec transfer rate. The subtle and simplified high quality metal appearance perfectly interprets the high speed performance of USB 3.0, adding another new force to Team Group’s high-end products.

HornetTek Goliath USB 3.0 Hard Drive Enclosure

CDRLabs has put together a brief review of HornetTek's Goliath USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure. The Goliath is made out of rigid aluminum and supports 3.5-inch SATA hard drives up to 2TB. The enclosure also sports a built in 80mm fan and extra ventilation to keep hard drives cool. To top it all off, it features a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface capable of delivering transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s.

Toshiba Announces STOR.E EDITION Portable USB 3.0 Hard Drives

Toshiba Computer Systems, a division of Toshiba Europe GmbH, announced the new STOR.E EDITION today. The external hard disk drive features a USB 3.0 port allowing for fast USB 3.0 data transfer. The elegant design of the STOR.E EDITION’s casing echoes the sleek, modern design of Toshiba’s latest Satellite, Satellite Pro and Tecra R-series laptops. STOR.E EDITION will be available during the second quarter 2011 in Europe.

Toshiba’s STOR.E EDITION comes in four different colours – red, blue, silver and black – and a casing with a grooved texture. The storage capacity of up to 1TB is large enough to house huge digital media libraries.

Via its USB 3.0 port, STOR.E EDITION is able to transfer large media files quickly to a connected USB 3.0 laptop with a data rate of up to 5 Gigabits per second. Computers and peripheral devices with USB 2.0 only, can still be used with the new external hard disk drives.

Texas Memory Systems, Inc. (TMS), maker of The World’s Fastest Storage, introduces the new high-performance RamSan-70, a 900-GB half-length PCIe card featuring Toshiba’s newest 32nm SLC Flash. The RamSan-70 is the first product powered by Texas Memory Systems’ new Series-7 Flash Controller. Based on high-performance Xilinx FPGAs and a PowerPC processor, the Series-7 Flash Controller handles all Flash management functions without impacting the host CPU. It incorporates patented Texas Memory Systems reliability technology, yielding an expected lifespan of 6-10 years. Its proprietary enterprise-level reliability features include chip-level RAID and an advanced ECC algorithm, correcting more errors than required by the manufacturer.

In the optical storage media sector, Verbatim is presenting its new Blu-ray 6x BD-R LTH Type with AZO technology. It offers 25GB of storage capacity with a 6x burning rate. It will also be available in a version with a wide printable surface as far as the inner ring. It is suitable for recording films in high definition, backing up large amounts of data and the long-term archiving of photos and videos. With an impressive capacity of 25GB (up to 5 times the capacity of a DVD), the new Verbatim BD-R LTH is the ideal solution for long-term storage and archival needs for all personal data, office work files as well as photos and videos.  It offers space for up to 135 minutes (MPEG2) of entertainment in HD-quality at a burning time of 15 minutes. The printable version is fully inkjet printable (22 – 118mm) to the inner ring and gives the opportunity to personalise the disc with images and text.
