QNAP Systems, Inc. today released the new TVS-x72XT NAS series, powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processors with both 10GBASE-T and Thunderbolt 3 high-bandwidth connectivity for tackling heavy workloads and smoothly transferring, displaying and editing 4K videos in real-time. By supporting M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs and graphics cards, the TVS-x72XT series provides the ability to boost performance and create a scalable working environment for high-speed file sharing and collaboration.

Today Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. is adding 12TB and 14TB models to both its N300 NAS Hard Drive and X300 Performance Hard Drive series.

The new 12TB and 14TB models use a helium-sealed design, enabling the 3.5-inch mechanical design to deliver increased storage density with a lower hard drive operating power profile. Toshiba laser welding technology and hard drive case is designed to keep the helium securely sealed inside the drive enclosure.

Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. today announces a new addition to its popular family of CANVIO external hard drives (HDDs), a 4TB option in its ADVANCE, BASICS and READY series.

The 4TB option gives up to 33 percent extra storage (compared to 3TB) for consumers and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that want to store large files and back up their data. Using 1TB platter technology allows the 4TB CANVIO models to maintain the same low-profile design as 3TB models. CDRLabs has put together a brief review of Samsung's new 860 QVO SSD. This consumer-oriented drive is powered by Samsung's proven MJX controller and is available with up to 4TB of their latest 4-bit MLC V-NAND flash. To compensate for the slow write speeds typically associated with 4-bit (QLC) NAND, the 860 QVO is equipped with Samsung's Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which uses a large SLC buffer to accelerate sequential write speeds. The drive also features an AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption engine and is compliant with various advanced security management solutions such as TCG Opal 2.0 and Encrypted Drive (IEEE-1667).
