The new release of the popular video software is based on the cutting-edge H.264 video compression standard, which allows for high-performance, high-quality digital video at up to 1080p HD resolution. SlySoft announced today that it has defeated the latest version of BD+. According to their press release, AnyDVD HD 6.5.0.2 decrypts the copy protection on all current Blu-ray movies, including once problematic titles such as "Futurama: Bender's Game", "Meet Dave" and "Babylon A.D."
Despite some sites reporting that "Slysoft has been beaten", the Antiguan company renowned for promoting Fair Use Rights has effectively defeated BD+ once again and much earlier than expected; the cat and mouse game of DRM has entered the next round.
Although newer BD+ decryption wasn't expected until February 2009, today's AnyDVD HD 6.5.0.2 release decrypts copy protection on all current Blu-ray movies and, in turn, ensures that consumers may continue to backup and enjoy their Blu-ray movie purchases even when using computer monitors that are not HDCP compliant. In fact, Anydvd HD remains the only program that can decrypt all commercial Blu-ray releases, and this incredible magic is, as per usual with Anydvd HD, performed on the fly without requiring users to rip first to their hard drives.

As of January 1st, 2009, SlySoft will change its update policy from free lifetime updates to an annual subscription fee. All license purchases made before January 1st, 2009 will not be affected by this change; as promised, all licenses purchased before 2009 will still be honoured under Slysoft's free lifetime update policy.

Since SlySoft's beginnings in 2003, all Slysoft product licenses have been sold with free product lifetime updates included. While standards, technologies and SlySoft's product range have changed significantly since 2003, only now has Slysoft's free lifetime update policy been reviewed with respect to converting to an annual subscription fee format for new license purchases.
According to SlySoft CEO Giancarlo Bettini, this change is justified and will ensure first class products and future development: "Our portfolio already contains eight products, and there is another program in the pipeline. Each product is continuously being enhanced by first-class developers; each product gets 24/7 top-notch multilingual support. Our premises became a bit crowded in the last couple of years, and, to be honest, we may not have reached our limits yet. Something needs to be done in order to not only ensure Slysoft's continued commitment to excellence but to also promote future improvements: namely, growth and development. With respect to current financial challenges the current economy presents, modifying our update policy seems to be the only fair and reasonable step in lieu of a substantial price increase.
