Ennova Direct Corporation announced today that the USPTO recently awarded the company's founders (Paul Regen and Peter Garrett) another USB Flash Drive patent - US 7,462,044. This new USB flash drive has unique patented features including a new type of retractable USB connector with a built-in cover that protects the flash drive's OLED screen. The OLED screen comprises an integrated biometric fingerprint scanner which changes color to indicate the success or failure of a match of the user's stored fingerprint. The OLED screen is also an interactive interface that allows the user to select specific files and initiate specific functions.

IronKey, maker of the world's most secure USB memory stick, today announced a strategic partnership with CRYPTOCard, a leading developer of two-factor authentication technology, in order to integrate CRYPTOCard's trusted authentication technology with IronKey Enterprise USB devices.
All IronKey Enterprise devices now ship with CRYPTOCard One Time Password (OTP) technology, which provides a two-factor authentication for CRYPTOCard's BlackShield ID Authentication Server without the need for additional physical tokens. GE’s micro-holographic discs will be able to be read and recorded on systems very similar to a typical Blu-ray or DVD player. Holographic storage is different from today’s optical storage formats like DVDs and Blu-ray discs. DVDs and Blu-ray discs store information only on the surface of the disc; holographic storage technology uses the entire volume of the disc material. Holograms, or three-dimensional patterns that represent bits of information, are written into the disc and can then be read out. Although GE’s holographic storage technology represents a breakthrough in capacity, the hardware and formats are so similar to current optical storage technology that the micro-holographic players will enable consumers to play back their CDs, DVDs and BDs.
The GE team successfully recorded micro-holographic marks approaching one percent reflectivity with a diameter of approximately one micron. When using standard DVD or Blu-ray disc optics, the scaled down marks will have sufficient reflectivity to enable over 500 GB of total capacity in a CD-size disc.
