QNAP, Inc. today upgraded its VMobile app for iOS to version 3.0 to enhance operational efficiency and user experience with the addition of a low-bandwidth mode and improved user interface.
With the greater use of mobile devices, being able to manage surveillance systems while on-the-go has become increasingly popular. However, the convenience of using these apps is usually compromised with a bad live-view experience caused by limited network speeds. "To solve this, VMobile 3.0 comes with a low-bandwidth mode to provide smooth video streaming while keeping the same real-time video monitoring,” said Mike Shaw, product manager of QNAP Security. VMobile 3.0 should be used with a VioStor NVR with QVR 5.0.2 or a Turbo NAS with Surveillance Station 5.0.2.

PNY, the leading manufacturer of memory products and PC Peripherals, is delighted to announce the combination of the OTG Panda and the Micro M2 USB drive, a perfect package for mobile solution. USB OTG is an abbreviation of USB On-The-Go. This basically means that you can plug any PC peripheral to such a port on the device, which acts as a USB host similar to a PC with a USB port, allowing USB flash drives to be connected directly for data transfer. Using USB OTG, one will finally be able to get to do something more productive on the Android Smartphone by connecting a USB keyboard/mouse combo or a mouse connected via OTG.
With most Android phones being fast enough to support interesting games, one can really take control of gaming by attaching a USB joystick and enjoy a competitive edge over your competitors. One of the peripheral devices one can connect to an Android Smartphone or tablet via OTG is a USB storage drive. This allows one to transfer data directly to the USB drive without having to make use of a computer. Also, this is very convenient because one can do it on the move, just about anywhere.
