In advance of the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show, Victorinox Swiss Army (VSA), the exclusive marketer of Victorinox USB Flash Memory devices, today announced the launch of new electronic additions to its Swiss Army Knife business—the Victorinox Slim, Victorinox Slim Duo and Victorinox Secure SSD. The Slim line includes advanced USB flash drives—which are available in flight friendly versions—featuring unique designs and colors, slim dimensions, and data storage of up to 128GB. The Secure SSD is the world's smallest 256GB solid-state drive, delivering three times faster read speed and more than double write speed when compared with standard high speed USB Flash devices.

SanDisk Corporation, the global leader in flash memory cards, today announced that its 32 gigabyte (GB) and 64GB SanDisk® P4 modular solid state drives (pSSD) were selected by ASUS as the SSDs of choice for its new Eee Slate EP121 tablet computers introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show.
The SanDisk P4 SSD fits ASUS' thin design and low power consumption requirements for its newest tablet. SSDs use flash memory technology and have no moving parts, offering improved durability that helps prevent data loss resulting from drive failure. SSD-equipped devices can run quieter, cooler and come in smaller form factors than are possible with conventional hard disk drives (HDD).

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC gaming hardware market, today announced that it has developed a range of performance components that fully exploit the potential of the new Intel 2nd Generation Core Processor family, including the new LGA1155 Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
These components include the previously announced Corsair Vengeance DDR3 memory modules, which operate with a low VDIMM voltage of 1.5V, and include XMP-certified performance profiles for Core i5 and Core i7 processors. In addition, Corsair is also announcing the next-generation Performance 3 Series, a new range of solid-state drives, based on the Marvell 9174 controller and designed to take full advantage of the SATA 6Gbps (SATA Revision 3.0) support native to the new Intel chipsets.

Maxell's SSD offers a 210 MB/s write and 230 MB/s read speed in 1.8" and 2.5" form factors - identical in size to most of the current internal HDDs.
The SSD drive will be available using MLC (Multi Layer Cell) flash technology to offer speed and performance at a reasonable price. Available SSD capacities are: 64GB to 256GB with a roadmap to 512GB late in 2011.
