AH, there's life... I had several tape backups over the years. a DAT audio deck, reel to reels, cassette, VHS, super VHS. The tape units just got too small and slow but my first one could hold my whole computer on one small tape with the compression. I guess you can still get some of the newer generation of tapes but I'd think most big places are using multi array hard drives and redundant drive setups to make sure critical data is safe.

Can't be tape for cost and capacity. It's just slow as hell.
