CDRLabs has put together a brief review of Silicon Power's new USB 3.0 portable hard drive, the Diamond D05. Available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities, this pocket sized drive sports a streamlined design with a scratch-resistant, metallic grain surface. The Diamond D05 also features a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface which allows transfer speeds up to 10x faster than USB 2.0. To top it all off, the Diamond D05 works with Silicon Power's SP Widget backup and security software and is covered by a 3-year warranty.

Available in capacities ranging from 60GB up to 480GB, the Vertex 3 is powered by SandForce's SF-2281 processor and features a SATA 6GB/s interface as well as native TRIM support. OCZ's SSD also uses 25nm synchronous MLC NAND flash to deliver up to 550MB/s read and 500MB/s write transfer rates and up to 60,000 4KB random write IOPS.
CDRLabs has put together a brief review of SanDisk's Ultra USB flash drive. Available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities, this new drive sports an attractive slider design and is capable of transfer speeds of up to 15 MB/s. The Ultra also ships with SanDisk's SecureAccess software, which protects files against unauthorized access by creating an encrypted, password-protected folder or "vault" on the drive.

This stylish and compact drive is capable of 8x DVD±R, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 4x DVD±R DL and 5x DVD-RAM writing speeds and can read Blu-ray Discs at speeds as high as 6x. The SE-406A is also USB powered and features support for Samsung's AV connectivity technology. To top it all off, the drive comes with CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes software capable of playing Blu-ray movies in 3D.
CDRLabs finishes up the week with a review of Plextor's new external 12x Blu-ray Disc writer, the PX-LB950UE. Offering some of the fastest BD reading and writing speeds available, the PX-LB950UE is capable of 12x BD-R, 8x BD-R DL and 2x BD-RE writing speeds and a maximum BD-ROM read speed of 8x. The drive also features both SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and eSATA connections as well as support for HP's LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling system and Plextor's PlexUtilities advanced application and diagnostic tool. To top it all off, it comes with CyberLink's Blu-ray Disc Suite which includes software capable of playing back Blu-ray movies in 3D.
Today, CDRLabs brings you an in depth look at OCZ's Agility 3 SSD. This cost-effective alternative to the popular Vertex 3 is based on the same SandForce SF-2281 controller and shares many of the same features including a SATA 6Gb/s interface and TRIM support. Despite its use of more affordable asynchronous NAND, the 120GB Agility 3 is capable of delivering up to 525 MB/s sequential read and 500 MB/s sequential write speeds as well as up to 50,000 4KB random write IOPS.
