Read the TDK VeloCD 48x24x48 CD-RW Drive review since its based on the same Lite-On LTR-48246S as the Sony 48x24x48 is. The only difference is the formware used by each of the drives. TDK and Sony drives use firmware specific for their drives and there are only minor differences between them and the Lite-On firmware. However the drive specs and features are all the same. Also the included recording software is different with the TDK and Sony.

Yes it is a Lite-ON drive and it performs just like any other Lite-ON or Lite-ON OEM.

That's better.Okay, I have the CRX 215E1, flashed to the Liteon 52246S from Daves' site (www.firmware-flash.com/~dhc014)
It should cost you about 4300-4500 rupees at Lamington Road. Then you can easily flash it to Lite-On's latest and greatest.
Just be polite here, and you will be fine.
