The default is usually "match more media".

I just checked and there's still no update to the Lite On firmware area.
They still list 6s07 as the most current one.

But I've had good results with it. :wink:

With a 99 minute disc:

I was running Kazaa Light and a few other programs in the background. I suspect that's why the CPU % was so high.

It was mentioned in this thread from earlier in the week.

I don't think anyone knows what's been added since 6s07.

In the spirit of posting links to places with links to the firmware:

:lol:

I never noticed anything very different since the upgrade, so "match more media" is probably the benefit.

Did it improve the drive's RW times at all when using 24x RW media?

Now, after looking at all of that, the final result was 1 second faster @ 24x with 6s08

And that can just be attributed to measurement-to-measurement repeatibility error. The big non-news is that rewriting is still CAV. No P-CAV yet. :(

Thanks for the report, Spazmogen.

P.S. Am I the only one who finds Spazmogen's new icon vaguely distracting/disturbing when trying to read his posts? :wink:

Cfitz;

you are not the only one, I find Spazmogen's new Icon not just disturbing but annoying, therefore although his comments and opions are usually well taken but because of his new Icon gets to my nerve I have been avoiding reading his replys.

I wish Spazmogen consider to have more relaxing and peaceful Icon but again I have no right to tell some one what to do or what to choose.
