Thanks for the heads up Ulysses. I must admit that I'm surprised that they're still releasing updates. The last one was more than a year ago.

Wow.

Nice to hear, since I've not been able to find a good reason to go to Nero 7. Downloading this now, and thanks for the update, Ulysses!

It's nice to see that Nero hasn't abandoned their 6.x users. :D

I only saw 1 download.
Is there a download that does NOT include the Yahoo stuff?

Here's the answer.

During the install, one is asked whether the Ask toolbar shold be installed and whether it should b3e the default, I guess, search critter.

I unchecked te box to NOT make it the default, then I did not authorize installation.

I was rather surprised that was not asked to reboot after the install.

It is weird. I downloaded Nero 6.6.1.15 (nero-6.6.1.16_no_at.exe) and updated my existing Nero Ultra Edition 6.6.1.4. In Nero StarSmart it shows up that Installed version: 6.6.1.15; Latest Available Version: 6.6.1.4. How dose this happen?

Thank you!!

I'm guessing that it checks a webpage or something where Nero lists the latest version. Nero probably hasn't updated that yet.

It was funny to read Boone's old software review for Nero 5.x and see as one of the Pro's that Nero was "not bloatware" since i just installed Nero 7 myself this week.... What is the 'new' favored non-bloatware these days anyway now that Ahead has gone big time?

There's some unofficial "Lite" versions of Nero 7 floating around. Plus you can make your own lite version, if needed (haven't tried myself, though).

I also like CopyToDVD; although 99% of my burns now a days are using ImgBurn.

In case anyone is interested, I just noticed a changelog posted over at Nero - the first one in like 2 years or something. I imagine it only covers the most recent changes and not all the intermediate versions since the last changelog, though.

http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_Burn ... es.html#a1

Version Number: 6.6.1.15

(Changes from Package #1, Version 6.6.0.16 ? 6.6.1.15)

Release Date: March 13th, 2007
Other Changes/Bugfixes

* Erasing a DVD+RW was not always possible´
* The error message “cannot connect to TRF” was displayed when burning a UDF 2.50 disc
* Burning a compilation to image recorder was not possible in specific cases
* The Internet database could not always be accessed correctly
