NEC ND-3540 planned to launch during april 2005

Postby HardwareHarry on Tue Mar 08, 2005 12:34 pm

Today I got one answer on my two questions I submitted:
(I replied directly to the first question again,
when will the new 3520A FW be released!)

Dear Mister Schouten,

we plan to launch ND-3540 during april 2005. McDos in Nijmegen can also be
contacted if you like.

Best regards,
Sandra

I don't believe it, because this is the I-O DATA 3530 OEM version who is almost two months on the japanese Akiba and I-O DATA websites...

The Utobia DDW-3510RS with only 16xDVD+-/4xDVDR+ is also never sold outside the japanese market.

And the 3540 is already officially announced by NEC Europe for release.

I need a DVD burner for my 2nd PC; thinking of the 3540, so I can get 8X DL write speed and not have to upgrade for a long time.
Hopefully it will be out real soon!!

Does anyone have specifics of when in April it will be released in the US?

Maybe I'll sell my 3500A and two 3540s.
Burners only:
Pioneer DVR-115D
Pioneer DVR-111D
Plextor PX-716A TLA0304
Plextor PX-716A same TLA

NEC Europe(Germany) is very precautious with their words when excactly
something happen, like the question about F/W updat promised for 3520,
the say keep wathing the site...

So for the 3540 they said we plan for during April, could be a whole month
like the F/W!
