Storing and sharing your favorite music, photos and HD video is easier than ever with the new high capacity Micro Vault Click P Series flash drives from Sony Europe. With storage capacities of up to 64GB, the Micro Vault Click gives users all the space they need in a small, stylish and easy-to carry design.

Available in either black (all capacities) or white (4GB/8GB/16GB), new design enhancements to the Micro Vault Click include a reduced form factor length of 5.6mm, giving it a slimmer profile, and a wider strap hole makes attaching to a key chain or mobile phone a snap. A 360-degree LED at the tip lets users know when data is being written, and when it is safe to remove. Sony has also brought back its popular and unique Click feature, letting users reveal the USB connector without adding length to the body and protect it when not in use.

With the ever growing popularity of rich multimedia content, from HD video to high resolutions digital photos, the Micro Vault Click is a welcome addition to Sony’s Micro Vault family. With its large storage capacity and slim profile, it is akin to having a second hard drive small enough for a key chain, all at a very affordable cost.

14 September 2011

Intel Corporation announced today its latest solid-state drive (SSD), the Intel® Solid-State Drive 710 Series, a purpose-built Multi-Level Cell (MLC) data center SSD and replacement for the Intel® X25-E Extreme SSD. While the Intel X25-E was based on more expensive but highly reliable Single-Level Cell (SLC) NAND flash memory, the Intel SSD 710 uses compute-quality Intel 25-nanomenter (nm) MLC NAND flash memory with Intel High Endurance Technology (HET) to deliver the endurance and performance necessary for data center, financial services, embedded, Internet portal, search engine and other demanding storage and server applications, but at a greater value.

"The Intel SSD 710 Series gives enterprise data center and embedded users extreme endurance and performance, enabled by Intel's High Endurance Technology based on Intel 25nm MLC NAND technology," said Rob Crooke, Intel vice president and general manager of the Intel Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. "Intel SSDs are widely deployed in the data center due to their performance, reliability and value. Our latest SSD product family offers more than 30 times the write endurance of our current MLC SSDs, plus improved performance and new features, such as power-loss data protection and surplus arrays of NAND for enhanced reliability."

Micron Technology, Inc., today introduced a new solid-state drive (SSD), providing enterprise customers with a compelling price-to-performance NAND Flash memory storage option. This new drive is designed for read caching, direct attached storage (DAS) and booting virtual desktop infrastructures — all key applications for servers and blade designs.

The new drive, called the RealSSD™ P400e, enhances Micron's tiered enterprise SSD portfolio with an entry-level enterprise solution. Micron's portfolio now covers the entire enterprise storage spectrum, from boot applications (the new RealSSD P400e), to data storage (RealSSD P300) and caching applications (RealSSD P320h).

Storage architects and system administrators demand an increasingly lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Many have previously attempted to achieve this by using client SSDs that are not designed to handle rigorous 24 x 7 enterprise workloads. The new P400e meets those demands. By leveraging Micron's expertise in multilevel cell (MLC) NAND design, wear management and SSD firmware, the P400e drive delivers excellent input/output operations per second (IOPs) per dollar, along with enterprise endurance and reliability.
