Western Digital Debuts WD Red NAS Hard Drives

Western Digital, a storage industry leader, today announced the debut of WD Red NAS hard drives, an innovative line of SATA hard drives specifically designed for home and small office NAS (network attached storage) systems with one to five drive bays. Compatibility-tested with top NAS box manufacturers and optimized for power and performance, WD Red hard drives are now shipping in 3.5-inch 1 TB, 2 TB and 3 TB capacities.

Verbatim is unveiling the first Store ‘n’ Go Universal Storage Module (USM) Portable Hard Drive, a completely flexible and upgradable storage solution. Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB Solid State Drive

CDRLabs has taken an in depth look at Kingston's new HyperX 3K solid state drive. Designed with enthusiasts and gamers in mind, this cost-effective alternative to the original HyperX is powered by LSI's SandForce SF-2281 processor and features a SATA 6GB/s interface and DuraClass technology. Corsair Announces SandForce-Based Force Series GS SSDs

Corsair, a worldwide designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced the Force Series GS solid-state drives (SSDs). The new SSDs, which offer the fastest overall performance in Corsair's SandForce®-based lineup, will initially ship in capacities of 180GB and higher. As with other Force Series drives, the Force Series GS SSDs are based on the SandForce SF-2200 SSD Processor, but add toggle NAND flash memory to boost random write speeds up to an amazing 90,000 IOPs.

The Force Series GS SSDs feature SATA 6Gb/s connectivity for compatibility and performance, TRIM support to maintain performance over time, and lower power operation for longer battery life. Their 2.5" form factor, combined with an included 3.5" adapter, allow easy installation into notebooks or into desktop PCs.
