Hewlett-Packard (HP) is offering its new D4655y-series desktop PC bundled with an HD DVD-ROM drive for an additional US$99, in a move to promote HD DVD, according to industry sources in Taiwan. The HD DVD-ROM is unable to burn HD DVD discs but is compatible with DVD discs, the sources indicated.This is a pretty good deal considering the HD DVD-ROM drive is currently a $249 option on HP's D4650y series of PC's.
