Western Digital sent out a press release this morning, announcing its WD ShareSpace high-speed network storage systems. These new 4-bay storage systems provide up to 4 TB of storage capacity and offer multiple RAID configurations for data protection and speed. Thomson announced today that it has established the first Blu-ray Disc Association approved Blu-ray Disc Testing Center in the United States. Located in Burbank, CA, the test center has been categorized as a ‘content verifier’ and has been given the task of testing commercial content for the BDA.

Technicolor’s test center is categorized as a ‘content verifier’ testing facility, approved by the BDA and tasked with testing commercial audiovisual (AV) content for the Association.
Technicolor, as an expert in Blu-ray Disc production, recognizes the need for improved quality control and format verification for Blu-ray Discs to ensure better compatibility and performance. The creation of a testing center directly addresses the demand by studios and content producers to create a knowledge center for improving disc compatibility and performance, and accelerate the release of Blu-ray Disc titles into the market.
Corsair announced this week that it will be introducing a 64GB version of its Flash Voyager drive. The drive is enclosed in an all-rubber, water-resistant housing and is large enough to hold more than 300 hours of MPEG-4 video or 16,000 songs in MP3 format.

DivX, Inc. announced today that three of Pioneer's Blu-ray Disc players have been certified for DivX playback. While the BDP-LX08 is limited to the European market, the BDP-LX71 and BDP-51FD will be available across Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand starting in October.
