Addonics Technologies today announced a family of Cipher RAID Towers, an advanced security solution that provides multiple levels of protection for security-sensitive users.
The Cipher RAID Tower, with AES 256-bit full disk hardware encryption, is a perfect solution for applications that require reliable storage with redundancy and advanced data security protection.
The FIPS certified hardware crypto engine integrated inside the Cipher RAID Tower encrypts and decrypts data on the fly without utilizing any system resources and thus ensures the maximum performance of the RAID system.
Built on the Addonics field proven Storage Tower and hardware encryption solutions, the family of Cipher RAID Towers is designed to provide superior performance and full disk hardware encryption at less than half of the price of similar products in the market.
Users can select from two Addonics’ RAID encryption architectures - Drive Level Encryption (DLE) and RAID Volume Encryption (RVE). Both DLE and RVE offer strong AES 256-bit encryption but at a different price performance.
Public authorities, tax accountants, CPAs, and hospitals – only a few examples for a realm where customer data are highly confidential. Particularly awkward is carrying such data e. g. on an external HDD. For users, who want to protect the data entrusted, here is a safe, practical as well as reasonably priced solution.
In the new ICY BOX IB-SAFE226, an external enclosure, an AES-256 encryption protects the data on the 2.5” SATA HDD. The user needs a physical key and the enclosure with its special chipset. To decrypt the HDD he needs the same key and an appropriate enclosure. Without the key: nothing. So you better do not keep the key too close to the enclosure.

Add a commentNetbooks are common; Netbooks are trendy. By their very nature, Netbooks need to be small and lightweight, which means that many of them come with limited SSD storage. Verbatim’s new Store ‘n’ Go Netbook USB Drive solves this weakness by providing up to 32GB storage capacity in a device smaller than a Euro coin that can be simply plugged into a Netbook and left there on a near permanent basis. The Verbatim Netbook USB Drive is available in stores now.
Verbatim´s new Netbook USB Drive allows users to increase the storage of their Netbook without having to open it to upgrade the built-in storage, or even extend its footprint. Due to its minute size – only 17.15mm long x 14.85mm wide x 7.7mm deep - when inserted into the USB interface, only 5mm is left protruding, meaning that it can be kept in the Netbook on a semi-permanent basis and used as a long-term storage extension. And, needless to say, Verbatim Netbook USB doesn’t only work with Netbooks, but can be used in any other computer or gadget with a USB port - anything from car radios and digital picture frames to desktop PCs.
