Boasting top-tier performance specifications, the STRIKER 2.5” SSD is an important step forward for Mushkin to offer the most well-rounded SSD lineup – producing solutions for high value, performance, and capacity.
The STRIKER SSD provides sequential read and write throughput of up to 565 and 550MB/s respectively, with random performance of up to 90,000 4K IOPS. Launching in 240-960GB capacities, the new STRIKER SSD series will be available at retail channels in Q1 2015.

Capable of delivering top quality video from packaged Blu-ray Discs or instantly streaming a wide variety of online movies, videos, TV shows, and music from over 300 applications including Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, Video Unlimited, and more, these new models reinforce Sony’s leadership in the Blu-ray Disc player category.
The 2015 Sony Blu-ray Disc players – models BDP-S6500, BDP-S5500, BDP-S3500 and BDP-S1500 – are packed with features to enhance the viewing experience. The Quick Start/Quick Load feature lets viewers jump right into their entertainment, while Miracast™ allows viewers to display photos and video from a compatible Android smartphone or tablet to TV screens by wirelessly connecting through their Blu-ray Disc player.
Sony’s new Blu-ray Disc players come equipped with the PlayStation™Now (PS Now) application. With PS Now, users can stream and play select PlayStation®3 (PS3™) games directly on a TV, without a console, using their Sony Blu-ray Disc player and a DUALSHOCK®4 controller with USB cable.

CyberLink Corp., the world’s leading consumer multimedia software company, today announced support for the latest standard in Digital Rights Management—SeeQVault. A technology developed by leading equipment manufacturers Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and Toshiba, SeeQVault enables the playback and transfer of HD/4K UHD content, whether purchased, rented or recorded, across in-home devices in a secure environment.
With SeeQVault users can record TV programs on their PVR, and then transfer them to a PC via USB or SD card for playback using a SeeQVault-supported media player. This helps to address a missing link in the current HD/4K UHD consumer entertainment ecosystem, allowing users to side-step current impediments to playback such as device capacity, data caps, broadband access and bandwidth restrictions, among others.

Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the addition of a 3TB capacity offering to its Canvio Basics storage lineup. The 3TB Canvio Basics portable hard drive can store up to 856,500 digital photos, 789,000 digital music files or 2,460 downloaded digital movies. As with the rest of the offerings within the Canvio Basics 3.0 line, software setup is not necessary.
“Even as a portable device, consumers are looking for high-capacity options to keep up with their extensive content libraries,” said Maciek Brzeski, Vice President, Branded Storage, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “Our 3TB Canvio Basics provides high capacity storage in a simple solution.”

Toshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company announced it will showcase a reference display of the world’s first PCI Express (PCIe) single package SSD, integrating up to 256 GB in a single BGA package, at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas, U.S.A.
The “BG Series” SSDs on reference display will be products under development. Utilizing Toshiba’s cutting-edge packaging technology applied in products like e・MMCTM, it is the world’s first PCI Express single package SSD, available in capacities up to 256 GB in a 16 mm x 20 mm x 1.65 mm BGA package. Also to be showcased will be a reference display of the world’s smallest removable module type SSD, which integrates the BGA single package SSD on a single-sided form factor.

Toshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company announced the launch of a 3TB 2.5-inch hard disk drive (HDD), the industry’s largest capacity. Utilizing perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology, the “MQ03ABB300” is the industry’s first 2.5-inch HDD to achieve 750GB per platter, using a total of 4 platters to achieve storage of 3TB. Suitable for external personal storage devices and space-constrained use cases requiring high storage capacity, the “MQ03ABB300” is small in size but large in storage capability. Sample shipments will begin in May.
The “MQ03ABB300” offers the best in energy consumption efficiency in the 2.5-inch form factor, with lower power consumption and 50 percent larger capacity compared to Toshiba’s previous generation 4-platter 2TB ”MQ01ABB200.”
