Synology Inc. today unveiled the new RackStation RS2416+/RS2416RP+, a 12-bay network-attached storage solution featuring schedulable snapshots and resilient data integrity, on-the-fly scalability up to 24 drives, as well as reliable performance suited for the modern workplace.
With support for the next-generation Btrfs file system, RS2416+/RS2416RP+ offers metadata mirroring and checksums that guarantee a higher level of data availability and survivability. Snapshots can be automatically captured as frequently as every five minutes, allowing businesses to go back in time and recover previous versions of files and folders. Up to 256* daily, weekly, or monthly snapshots can be retained when equipped with expanded memory.

Seagate Technology plc, a world leader in storage solutions, today announced it has achieved a major milestone in areal density with a new hard disk that can offer as much as 2TB of capacity in a slim 7mm package.
