Recently decided to join the DVD buring masses, with the purchase of the nice little (cheap!) LG burner. Can't really argue with a 180 Euro price tag.
Is it rather surprising to find that the Write Samples Offset is 0 for this drive? (writing cd audio)
Interestingly, the Read Sample Offset Correction is +667 which is identical to the Hitachi GD-5000 DVD-ROM that I have.
Despite being a tad on the slow side, it seems to rip and write audio CDs rather well. And, of course, it's a lot of fun playing around with (re)recordable DVD discs of such high capacity! As usual, I find myself asking the question "Why didn't I buy one of these cool toys before?!".
