Postby stony on Sun Nov 02, 2003 6:06 pm

Hi,

I have a plextor 708a dvd burner. I tried to burn xbox games on serveral media types.

I tried;
- princo dvd-r 1 to 4 speed (I couldn't make a copy from that copy plextor wouldn't read it)

- That's write dvd-r 1 to 4 speed (xbox read someones but not al the games i burned on that's write media)

Is there someone who knows which media is the best for burning xbox games with the plextor 708a?

You came to the right place. First off, I assume your xbox is modded, OK, next.

Some DVD Drives in the Xbox will only read DVD-R/RW and some will also read DVD+R/RW. I use DVD+R/RW in my Xbox and it works fine, it might not in yours.

My recomendation is that when burning games onto DVD+R media, burn it at 4x, just to be on the safe side. TDK and Verbatim disks may work fine at 8x, but my Memorex did not work very well.

Check out this tutorial:

It goes into great description of burning games from an original Xbox game or a burned Xbox game.

Check out this website to see what Xbox drive you have and what media works best with that drive:
