i think lots of people here would answer your questions with an emphatic Lite-On.
for lots of various reasons.

as for me, i would go with the lite on if only for the better burning quality it produces.

If your from the US, there's an excellent deal on the Lite-On 52x drive this week at Best Buy. It's under the BUSlink brand, but the only thing not Lite-On is the outside box and the instruction manual. Everything else is Lite-On straight out of the box. $44.99 after rebates for an OEM Lite-On 52x drive is an AWESOME deal that can't be passed up! Free shipping too! Even if your not from the US, I would go with the Lite-On. I have the TDK 48x which is a OEM Lite-On and it works perfectly everytime with some nice features.

dont be confused. BusLink is a like a reseller,
they buy cdrw drives made my Lite-on & they rebadge them under the name Buskink, its a way to make money i guess!!

Plus if you want the box to say LiteOn, you can buy their own retail version too. Check www.newegg.com for that.

LiteOn drives are quite good and cheap. Asus are near good, but much more expensive.

I haven't heard of any other drives inside BusLink till now. You can look if the box says Smart-Burn then you can be sure its a LiteOn.

All BUSlink 52x drives are Lite-On. However, some of the 48x BUSlink drives aren't made by Lite-On. So just look for SmartBurn Buffer Underrun Protection on the box and you know your getting a Lite-On drive.

And always keep your receipt so you can return it, just in case. The advice you get here is always (well, hopefully always :D ) accurate at the time it is given. But, of course, companies have been known to change their suppliers from time to time and begin shipping drives made by other manufacturers, and we aren't privy to those boardroom discussions.

This thread will also be helpful in explaining why BUSlink's 48x drives might not always be made by Lite-On.
