Windows Defender... AVG Free... SpyBot.... That should get you started.

Lenny - Get to Windows Update and update your PC with all the security updates... Also, the only scanner from MS I am aware of that is free is Defender.

you can download and run the Microsoft "Malicious Software Removal Tool" . Just do a search for it and get it from the Microsoft site. Also you can use the "Windows Live OneCare safety scanner", also free from Microsoft site. Both are easy to find with a search on the web.
