Web Domain Help

Postby BuddhaTB on Tue Jul 08, 2003 9:39 pm

I know this might not be the best forum for this question, but ah wells.

My friend wants to register a web domain, how would he go about this?
For example, if he wanted the zyzxsports.com domain name, is there a particular website he should visit to register this name or would any web domain service work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just go to register.com, and look up the domain to see if it's taken.

Also he can do a search on domain registration, and there are literally dozens of commerical registrations available that will do this. Their prices vary based upon the services available.

netsol is good for checking to see if the domain is available. Some others, (Dont know about the ones listed in this topic) remember the domain name you searched for and they buy it or raise the price of it for when you want to buy it later.
Then after you decide which domain name to use, go somewhere like www.bizmaxusa.com or some other web hosting site to get hosting and buy the domain through them and you get the domain name sometimes cheaper. (Kinda like a package deal or something like that)

Go Daddy has a great price on registration! Wow! OpenSRS is great for the convenience of being able to edit all of your own registration info. As far as hosting goes, a TON of people have problems with Digital Zones, so by all means, steer your friend away from them.
