My friend saw this Verbatim drive on outpost for a pretty good price. Has anyone had any exprience with it and is it any good for backing up dvd movies?

Verbatim was shipping OEM Ricoh's, but they've switched to NEC ND-1100A's. Unfortunately, I haven't had any experiences with NEC's DVD writers. :(

I had one. Bought for 290,000 won and sold for 117,000 won. :D

(1,200 won = US$1)

NEC ND-1300A will soon be on the retail market if not already. Its OEM price is only (approximately) US$30-50 higher than 1100A.

I've had good results on the NEC drives I've seen.
