Teac DV-W58GK?

Hello!

Can it be that Teac manufacture DVD-writer? Chip.de said, that this writer is not an OEM of Plextor and LiteOn
Benq DW 1640 and 1650 , Plextor PX-755, Pioneer BDR-208 and 209D, LG GH24NSC0, LG BH16NS40 and 16NS55, Liteon ihas 124F and 324F, Pioneer DVR-215 and S21, Samsung SH-224DB and 224GB, and some more

Not really sure. These days, TEAC seems to use designs from other companies instead of their own. I would be very surprised if this drive was designed in house.

Here's some info on the drive. Maybe someone can figure it out.

Hello Ian!

I saw this pdf, but the picture of the drive is not really a 1:1-pic of the drive, I think :(

The picture is like a DVD-Rom from Pioneer.

But maybe I´ll find a picture of this drive or you get this drive ;)

I´ll be happy, if one of the best drive-manufacturer (Teac) make again own drives :)

Look at the PDF with the tech data. It has some diagrams of the drive as well as its dimensions. It looks a lot like a Lite-On drive to me.

I went to the sites on Ian's post and it looked like the front panel of my LiteOn 52x24x52 CD-R. Maybe a LiteOn. If this is a LiteOn, might it be based on the 811 or the 851?

Let's find out when the drive is there.
CHIP isn't europeans most reliable source ! Specially when it comes to cd/dvd burners.

That´s not good news :(

Maybe we have in near future only a few manufacturers, that´s not good for the users, because they have not really a big choice
