Sony Optiarc AD-7280S & AD-7283S DVD Writers - What Chipset?

Postby Ian on Mon Sep 05, 2011 7:55 pm

Sony Optiarc has released new 24x DVD writers, the AD-7280S and the LabelFlash equipped AD-7283S.

Any idea what chipset these two have? They don't appear to be Lite-On rebadges, but do they use the MC-10045 like the AD-724xS and AD-726xS series?

Newegg has the AD-7280S in stock for $20.99. I might just order one and see.

Apparently these use an MC-10131. I have no idea how it compares to the MC-10045
