Sony DVD+RW Made In Japan.

Hey guys, (especially Dolph!). I had mentioned some Made In Japan +RW media earlier, and I've finally got my hands on it..
It is Sony S11, 4X +RW, green box, Order Number : DPW47S1.

Yeah! Someone on another forum *KEPT* asking me about them, so I went and bought a single piece to check out for them. Bloody good media! I've never seen lower test scores on a DVD+RW before :D Seriously, this media makes RICOHJPNW11 look like CMCW02 (without the format or speed difference :wink: ).
Punch Cards -> Paper Tape -> Tape Drive -> 8" Floppy Diskette -> 5 1/4" Floppy Diskette -> 3 1/2" "Flippy" Diskette -> CD-R -> DVD±R -> BD-R

can you please post a picture of the disc (in it's packaging etc.) ?

Yes....the S11's are +RW's.....the D11's are +R.....they also had -R at the same price but I din't get them.......

i burned a coaster with the sony dvd+r media, Disc ID: SONY-D11-00 on my plextor 708a drive. i'm gonna try another one after i'm done defragging on that pc. hopefully the problem was because i needed to defrag. if not these discs go back to compusa. i only bought them since the 708a can now do bitsetting. :wink:

I haven't burned any of the sony R+'s yet, but from what I have read, sony discs with a sony code are supposed to be very high quality.

:evil: Another coaster so those SONY DVD+R media is going back to COMPUSA, the buffer level in nero burn goes nuts from 10% to 87% while burning with my plextor 708a drive. I've never seen anything like this before. This is the first time I've used SONY DVD+R media and will be the last. Elcheapo COMPUSA Princo media doesn't even have buffer levels like that! :roll: In my opinion this SONY DVD+R media sucks! :evil:

EDIT: It seems the ide cable to my 708a could be the culprit for the buffer levels going nutz. I'm currently burning another of those SONY DVD+R discs in another pc with the 708A. So the SONY could be given a second chance! :lol:
