SONY DRU500A + WinNT4.0 SP6a = Possible?

Postby nosferatool on Wed Dec 25, 2002 6:23 pm

There's only Win98/Me/2000/XP support from the specifications. But what about WinNT4? Has anyone tried it? I am planning to get a DVD burner for my Video NLE system running on WinNT4. Am very interested in the DRU500A though but i just got an email from Sony saying it's not compatible with WinNT4. I mean i've been using a CD writer with it w/o any problems.....why not a DVD writer? Any help appreciated!

I don't see why not... if you're putting out dvd-roms they might not be readable my NT4 since it doesn't support the UDF file system... the IDE interface shouldn't be holding it back at all I wouldn't imagine.
