Sony DDU 1612 & Lite-On firmwares.

Postby dodecahedron on Tue Mar 25, 2003 4:37 pm

apparently the Sony DDU 1612 is a rebadged Lite-On LTD-166S
see:

my question: can it be flashed with original Lite-On firmwares (effectively transforming it into a Lite-On drive)?
anyone actually done this?

You could most likely flash it and it should work. Just make sure you use FlashFix on the Lite-On firmware before trying to flash the Sony drive.

Yes it can, except you will get a JLMS, not LITEON, drive.
