problems making vcd/svcd

i am trying to convert some video tapes to video cd. the vcd that i have made work on the computer that i made them with but not on others or in a dvd player. i noticed that the mpeg file on the vcd says file type "neromediaplayer". create standard compliant cd is checked. this occurs with nero burning or using ulead 7.0

system info:
athlon 1.5 / 256mb / 40 gb hdd / liteon cdrw / leadteck capture card

software win98se / nero 5.5.10.54 / ulead videostudio 7 se dvd

any help is greatly appreciated

Have you tried a different brand of CDR media?

Do you have the latest firmware on your model recorder?

Have you tried a slower write speed?

These are the most common causes. And since you have tried more than one Recording software and find it occurs with both, you can be fairly confident it's not a software issue.
