Problem with MSI DR4-A + HD-Burn in Nero

Postby Ryo on Fri Oct 24, 2003 7:53 am

Hi, I have a DVD-RW MSI DR4-A and when I tried to use the hd-burn feature in nero (5.5.10.50) on a 700mb verbatim the following message appear "Power calibration error" "Burn process failed", any idea why can be happening this?

quite possible it's a media incompatibility issue.
try using a different brand. try high-quality media, Taiyo Yuden if you can get it.

I recommend reading over this thread.

It's kinda big, but it has a lot of good info on the OptoRite based DVD writers.

I think that HD-Burn is to newbie, maybe with a firmware upgrade can solve it in a future (I hope), anyway I will try HD-Burn with Nero 6 since I saw various reviews of Optorite and Sanyo DVD-RW (basically the same unit that MSI is selling) and the couple nero 6 + HD-Burn seems to works fine (at least in these reviews). anyway I will contact to MSI support too.

Thanks to all for your help, best regards.

The first versions of NERO 6 still contain mayor bugs. At least that was claimed on a lot of forums and by a lot of european magazines. So be carefull.
